Being Cyrus

another sensible movie after Rang de Basanti!
This is quite rare in Bollywood...
a must watch...

had gone to watch Brokeback Mountain with my Sister and neighbour as part of celebration...my sister has got the student of the year award!

My neighbour had no clue about Brokeback mountain ...but the moment he read the description on the board...he ran to me and stopped me from buying the tickets...his exact words were "OVER MY DEAD BODY"

he said didnt want to watch this movie with two girls! and then made a correction and said " not even alone or with other guys" ;-)

so decided to go for Being Cyrus!
and turned out to be a good choice ! though it was just ninety minutes ( we are so used to the three hour bollywood saga)

a hundred percent " paisa vasool " in bombayiya lingo...

cheers!
Anu

Hey guys I have to share the good news with you and TIG …just couldn’t contain it anymore…

Sono al Settimo Cielo!!!!

I have been selected to be a delegate in the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the Milan International Model United Nations (7th -12th May 2006). Knew it for some time now but was waiting for everything to fall in place and now with the VISA in my hand it’s all confirmed ….

I owe special thanks to TIG as I came to know about the event from a fellow TIG member and friend…I can’t thank the person enough for this fabulous opportunity…

Thank you …:-)

why is dowry system still alive in India?

Check out this link;

http://www.hindu.com/mag/2006/03/19/stories/2006031900080300.htm

It is really disturbing to see that in one way or another this social evil manages to survive in our society.
WHy do people spend so much on the wedding preparations if they can ill afford it? they prefer going bankrupt rather than bring down their family pride...

i am from the state of Kerala in India and its actually a torture for me to attend the final wedding day ceremonies. as it is the day when the girl arrives on the scene decked from head to toe in Gold ( Believe me there are at least ten layers of them ...and they are really heavy...)

moreover , i have to keep smiling ... to all the uncles and aunts who very proudly proclaim that i will be decked in a similar fashion on my wedding day.....

Yeah right !!!! on my dead body!!!

I thank God every day that my parents have moved on from those silly notions of ostentatious display of family fortunes...

i always wonder if those girls( which include all my cousin sisters who have got married) dont feel like sacrificial goats on their wedding day...but of course that would be an extreme comment... i meant no offence...But i can't help it....maybe they do their thinking on some other plane...

i have asked them too if they really like it...most actually dont mind it...though they can't give one good reason why they like it except that it makes their family happy...
